Skinny Blue Cheese Stuffed Buffalo Burgers - Maumelle, AR
You ever have one of those days where you want a burger, but you kind of have a taste for buffalo wings, too? Well, have we got a recipe for you! Even though it tastes like it shouldn't be healthy, each serving is only about 345 calories!
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef (for an even leaner take, try ground turkey instead!)
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup hot sauce
6 tablespoons reduced-fat blue cheese crumbles (1½ tablespoons for each burger)
4 whole wheat buns
white, or red onion
iceberg lettuce leaves
tomato, sliced
Instructions
Combine the beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire, and hot sauce together in a large bowl.
Divide the meat into equal-sized patties, and form a flat hamburger with your hands.
Put 1 tablespoon of blue cheese into each hamburger, and fold it over to close the cheese in the center. Reshape the patties and make a slight thumb indentation in the center of each. This keeps them flat while grilling (and hopefully keeps the cheese from spilling out).
Lightly oil the grill grates with vegetable oil or nonstick cooking spray. Grill the hamburgers until they reach desired doneness.
Throw together on a hamburger bun with your desired toppings and enjoy!
