Paris Hometown Hero: Katrina Mitchell
We would like for you to meet this week’s Hometown Hero: Katrina Mitchell!
There are so many reasons Katrina loves the Paris Community! First and foremost, she loves the sense of family this community has. She has witnessed it come together on many occasions to show the world they are unified. Several years ago, a group aiming to bring unity back to the community was formed. The group came at a time when community morale was very low and Katrina truly enjoyed being a part of the movement to bring the community together.
As the Unit Director for the local Boys & Girls Club, Katrina loves that the Paris community is always quick to help out and lend a hand when children are involved. According to Katrina, there hasn’t been a time that a need for a kid has arisen that wasn’t met. She also loves the schools and the Boys & Girls Club. She believes the schools are the best in the area, and she loves that the club is able to provide sports, summer, and after school programs for kids across the county. The kids in Paris are some of the brightest kids around, and Katrina feels honored to be able to be a mentor and role model for them on a daily basis.
Katrina’s biggest personal accomplishment was becoming a mother. In her free time, she likes to listen to uplifting music and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
FUN FACT
I have a weird sense of humor, and I sometimes say some of the craziest and funniest things. I like to laugh and I love to see people laugh. I was not a class clown, although I probably could have been but.... I knew my parents wouldn’t think it was very funny!
