Paris Hometown Hero: Bishop Connice Mayes
We would like for you to meet this week’s Hometown Hero: Bishop Connice Mayes!
Bishop Mayes is the pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, where he has served for 23 years. Bishop Mayes has been in the ministry for 38 years, and he recently received an Associate Degree in Theology in June 2020.
Bishop Mayes loves the strong roots he has in Paris, Texas. He was born and raised in this community. He sees great potential in the city and he is always willing to help in areas where there is a need. Currently, he lives in Oklahoma, but he travels to Paris almost every day.
In his free time, Bishop Mayes enjoys fishing and spending time with his family going to different places they’ve never been to before.
FUN FACT: Because I am short in stature I always get short jokes.
