Keep Those Brushes Clean!
Lice happen!
A lousy attack on your household is the last thing that anyone wants to deal with. The amount of money and time invested in getting rid of them while trying to prevent them from spreading quickly adds up. Not to mention the time taken off work and school trying to contain the “situation.” Ultimately, head lice can be a task, but we have a tip that can help you avoid all the chaos!
The one thing that we grab, share, and never clean is a comb! There’s never any hesitation to run into your parent’s bathroom to brush down flyaway hairs or to give your hair a quick tease to bring back volume to your workday-do. Cleaning hair combs and brushes are often overlooked, but it’s an extremely important step. Sterilizing your combs and brushes is important because it helps to prevent the spread and return of head lice and ringworm.
Here is a quick soak you can make at home to sterilize your combs and brushes!
Combine 1/2 cup of warm water with 1/2 cup of white vinegar in a large bowl or in the bathroom sink. Sterilize brushes by soaking them in the mixture for 20 to 30 minutes. Make sure you do this at least once a week to ensure that you are ahead of the game!
