Dog Toy Germs
You know what they say, “A dog’s mouth is cleaner than a human’s.” Whether that’s true or not, there is one thing, for sure, that is dirtier than both: your pup’s favorite squeaky toy. With the bacteria from your dog’s mouth, the bacteria from the environment around you, and even the bacteria on your hands, those toys are covered in all sorts of germs. Often included in that collection of bacteria are yeast, mold, and germs that cause staph infections.
A quick and easy way to clean your dog’s rubber and sturdy fabric toys is to just place them in the top rack of your dishwasher. If you’re worried about the toys being ruined, you can wash them by hand with hot water and dish soap. Stuffed toys can even be tossed into your washing machine on a sanitizing cycle.
Keep those toys clean!
