Honoring 19 Years of Compassionate Care, Community Impact, and Growth
This January 23rd, HealthCARE Express is celebrating 19 years of providing exceptional care to communities across the region. What began as a bold idea and a shared vision has grown into a cornerstone of healthcare, serving millions of patients and creating opportunities for countless employees.
From its humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in urgent care, HealthCARE Express has navigated challenges, celebrated victories, and remained committed to treating every patient like family. As Dr. Tim Reynolds, founder of HealthCARE Express, shared:
“What we really wanted from the beginning was to take good care of patients and their families. And I think we have done a good job of doing that over the years.”
The Vision Behind HealthCARE Express
The idea for HealthCARE Express was born out of necessity. At a time when urgent care centers were virtually non-existent, Dr. Tim Reynolds saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between emergency rooms and primary care.
“I was the medical director of the ER,” Dr. Tim recalled. “Back then, there really were no urgent cares. I thought, why do you have to go to the ER for an ankle sprain, the flu, or a small broken bone? Why couldn’t there be a great facility that treats you right?”
In the early days, the concept of urgent care was still evolving. “When we first started, we looked around the country to see who we could learn from, but there was nobody,” Dr. Tim explained. “We were among the first. Our first urgent care conference had only 40 participants nationwide. Now there are 40 in every town.”
Pam Reynolds reflected on the heart of their mission:
“A huge shoutout to the communities, because that’s what keeps us in business. We do our best to make every patient encounter spectacular for the community—and I think we’ve been standing by that for 19 years.”
Overcoming Challenges and Building a Legacy
Getting the business off the ground wasn’t easy. Dr. Tim and Pam Reynolds juggled full-time jobs, a growing family, and real estate responsibilities while tackling the steep learning curve of starting a healthcare business. “We’d never built a building before,” Dr. Tim admitted. “We didn’t know about loans, insurance, or malpractice. It was chaotic, but we were determined.”
Pam added: “Our kids grew up at HealthCARE Express. I remember them playing tag on the foundation before the building was completed. Our handprints are still under there somewhere.”
Attracting patients required creativity and determination. “We went to meetings, marketed tirelessly, and even drove patients to the pharmacy or home if they needed it,” Pam shared. “We did anything we could to help.”
A Celebration of Growth and Gratitude
Today, HealthCARE Express serves approximately 200,000 patients annually, a testament to its enduring mission of compassionate care. Reflecting on the journey, Dr. Tim said:
“That’s millions of patients over 19 years. But beyond patient care, what we’re most proud of is the impact we’ve had on our employees. We’ve helped 350 people raise families, pay mortgages, and put kids through school. Seeing our team grow as leaders is incredibly rewarding.”
Pam highlighted one of the proudest moments in their history: “One of the best moments was when The City of Texarkana decided to have a HealthCARE Express Day. That’s a pretty big moment. It was the fact that we had done so much to serve the community that they wanted to reward us for that.”
As they celebrate this milestone, Pam expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported HealthCARE Express over the years: “We really truly just want to say thank you. A huge shoutout to our team that has supported us for 19 years—those who are here now and those who have been with us and left to go on to other careers. And, of course, a huge shoutout to the communities. Without the community, we don’t have a business.”

As HealthCARE Express celebrates this significant milestone, the Reynolds family and their partners Kevin McCann and Steven Foltz remain deeply committed to continuing their mission of delivering compassionate care while growing their impact on the communities they serve.
“What’s even cooler is the ripple effect,” Dr. Tim said. “Helping our employees grow, raising strong families, and showing up in our communities.”
Pam added: “The biggest compliment is that our kids still want to hang out with us. That’s the greatest joy of our lives.”
